Don Bosco School, Bandlaguda, 5 September 2019: Teachers’ Day celebration at Don Bosco School was a highly anticipated and eagerly awaited for the event that was well organized by the Class 10 students; with Class 9 assisting them. The day began with an assembly being presided over by the ‘Student Principal’ and ‘Student Teachers’ who seemed to have immense fun dressing up like their teachers. The School was fortunate to honour Rev. Fr Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar, Chairman of Don Bosco School, during assembly. After the lighting the lamp, Rev. Fr Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar addressed the assembly with words of appreciation for the teachers and administrators of the school. Instantly, the students gifted each teacher with a handmade card and a flower as a token of their gratitude. The Student Teachers then helped teachers with classes for a short while soon after the assembly.
An exceptional cultural programme followed with each class, performing songs and dances for their teachers. The highlight was a playlet by Class 9 and 10 about the “Greatest Teachers” in the World. Soon after lunch, Class 10 once more did a wonderful job of organizing games for all the teachers as well as support staff. Needless to say, everyone had great fun. Another meaningful moment was when Class 9 Lotus students gifted each of their teachers, the Principal and Vice Principal with a potted plant – a very thoughtful as well as eco-friendly gift.
Teachers’ Day celebration ended with a fellowship meal at the Provincial House on the 7th of September that was organized by the School Management. Gifts were also given to all the staff by the Management; a thought-provoking act appreciated by everyone. The Principal, Fr G Chinnappa expressed a huge “Thank You” to the students, especially Class 10, the teachers who helped to organize the event and the school management for all the hard work and sincere efforts in making theTeachers’ Day truly a memorable event.
