Don Bosco, Muniguda, 4 March 2020: Muniguda block is an ideal abode for the tribal communities who have settled here peacefully. It had a total population of 83201, and amongst them 47337 belong to tribal communities. The district is predominantly populated by tribals. Illiteracy is very high in the rural areas of the mission. There are no proper schools in the rural villages. The tribals and other backward castes are away from enjoying the fruits of educational policies and programmes of Union as well as State Governments.
Hence, Don Bosco Community created an awareness on importance of education, health and hygiene, effects of alcohol, human values and family life. Since, March 4th 2020 Fr Aruldas along with other Salesians have been to different villages of Kudusuru, Kukubathur, Brahaguda and Gobardhan to present awareness programmes on Social themes. The hostel children had prepared meaningful and powerful thematic skits, street plays in Odiya language and few dances. Awareness programme was successful, because their own children acted in the street plays, skits and performed dances. Village leaders, elders, youth and women were grateful to Don Bosco for bringing the message of importance of education and health and hygiene passionately.
