Sacred Heart Novitiate, Manoharabad, 7 April 2020: The community of the Sacred Heart Novitiate, is concerned about the poor families in and around the campus in Manoharabad.
The staff requested the Bosco Seva Kendra (BSK) for help these families who are around the novitiate community. The Director, Fr Bellamkonda Sudhakar accepted the request and sent 101 Food and Health Safety Kits, which contained all the basic provisions for distribution among the unfortunate.
On 5th April 2020, Bro Sagar, the assistant, along with one of the local workers, went around Manoharabad station and Gollagadda to collect data of the poor families. On 6th April 2020, Fr Kannadipara Mathew, the Novice Master and Fr Boddu Charan, the Administrator the Village President at Manoharabad to seek the prior permission for the distribution. On 7th April 2020, the community gathered in the refectory for a short prayer before the distribution of the provisions. Fr Charan supplied the face masks to the novices and to the staff. Fr Mathew, Fr. Charan, Bro Sagar, two novices and Yadagiri wore the gloves, face masks and distributed the provisions to the people.
The distribution began around 10:00 am. Primarily, the distribution was at Manoharabad for 40 families. Later, the Salesians proceeded to Gollagadda and distributed to 45 families. The relief service concluded by 12:30 pm. Bro Sagar collected their names, occupation, contact numbers and signatures during the distribution.
The Community of the Sacred Heart Novitiate is grateful to BSK for this wonderful initiative and happy to see the smiles on the faces of the poor people who received the help at Manoharabad.
