Bosco Ashram, Ponnur, 13 April, 2020: The distribution of the breakfast at Nidubrolu railway station and around Ponnur region has been done by Fr Chinnabathuni Louis and Fr Adhuri Chinna Babu, Bosco Ashram, Ponnur and with the assistance from the local people at Cabinpet, to feed the Poor, Destitutes and Children. The following were the relief services:
1. Nidubrolu Railway Station: The beneficiaries were 60 people per day. The breakfast contains with variety of Upma/Idly/Chapathi/Pulihora with Chutney.
2. Adoption of a School at Cabinpet: Alongside, a school at Cabinpet has also served as the point to distribute daily breakfast by the local families.
3. Health Safety Kits: Bosco Ashram is also gearing up to meet a higher demand of providing free Health Safety Kits consisting of Face Masks, Sanitizers and Soaps to facilitate the poor in 25 hamlets of the Ponnur region donated by the locals during this period of lockdown. It is also preparing for contingency and storing adequate stocks of raw materials as well as food grains.
The above services are carried out from the time the Prime Minister has called for a complete lock-down from 26th March 2020 till it is lifted.
Fr Louis encouraged the youth and the local people to come forward to help in the relief services in order to reach out to the neediest and deserving poor people who are trapped due to Covid-19.
It was instructed that observing social distancing and staying at home are necessary to drive away the dangerous Corona Virus (Covid-19).
