Yerrabalem, Mangalagiri, 26 April 2020: Don Bosco was one of the greatest educators of the last century. He was declared a saint of the Catholic Church. Thus, saw his religious society grow up into a big organization with three main branches: the Fathers and Brothers who take care of boys, the Sisters who take care of girls and the co-operators who are ordinary people, but through their life and work try to make the world a better place for the young to live in. Millions are now the past pupils of Don Bosco, all over the world. They are proud of their education. Among them can be counted many who occupy places of responsibility in different countries. The work of this humble priest has grown from a tiny seed into a large tree.

Such past pupils with an exciting zeal at Don Bosco Premnivas, Mangalagiri still carry the charism of Don Bosco in being with the poor and marginalized viz., Ravi Babu Birudu, Palla Srinivasa Rao, J. Poulu and K. Vijaya Kumar. The sponsors were A. Chandu, B. Ravi Babu, Palla Srinivasa Rao, J. Poulu, K. Vijaya Kumar, V. Kesari kumari, K.Kalyani, Narsi Reddy and V. Anil kumar. Hence, the past pupils of Don Bosco Premnivas, Magnaglagiri (1988-89 Batch) in Yerrabalem have moved into action to help reach the stranded workers and daily wage-earners with ration kits and food packets during lockdown in the town:
1. They offered food to 150 poor people who live in utter poverty in and around Vijayawada.
2. Distributed Rice – 5 Kg and essential commodities to 11 migrant families at Yerrabalem.
3. Likewise, vegetables were allocated to 100 families at Golivarithota adjacent to Mangalagiri.
4. Finally, the past pupils have given Rice (30 kgs) to the migrants from Odisha at Navvulur and Golivarithota.
