Don Bosco Provincial House, Hyderabad, 15 June 2020: The Province of St Joseph, begins its annual perpetually professed confreres meet at the Provincial House for all the Rectors, In charges and Parish Priests via Google Meet.
The meetings are scheduled from 15th June 2020 to 19th June 2020 in various batches and groups.
Fr Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar, the Provincial, in his inaugural message addressed the confreres through an online conference app to plan, choose priorities for the new academic year especially in the unique Covid-19 pandemic. He told that he was happy to meet everyone in the remote manner but assured them that he is close to their heart. “Although the Covid-19 pandemic devastated the entire globe, it has in some sense brought everyone together by staying at home, praying more fervently and building strong bonds of union and fraternity” he said. During 5 hours of web interaction, the Rectors, In charges and Parish Priests have planned the Annual Calendar, drew strategies and priorities as part of the Salesian Educative Pastoral Plan.
Fr Vice-Provincial, Fr Economer and all the councillors are present on all the days of online meetings.
Although there were technical issues in poor signals and unexpected internet problems, most of them were on the Google Meet, through regular interaction and constant sharing.
The confreres thanked Fr Provincial and the Secretary who facilitated this online Google meet for the confreres in the province first of its kind in India although there were national meetings held in various forums.
