BIRDY, Hyderabad, 8 August 2020: Retreats change lives of the people; they also give a chance to look back at the past. The spiritual retreats encourage to reflect on who we have been, who we are now, and what God desires us to be in the future. Probably we do not have the time to sit quietly every day and reflect on our personal growth, relationship with God and others. But retreats give us this opportunity to a transformative journey with God.
Similarly, retreat for the youth of today is a real need of the hour to spend some time getting right with God and experiencing how deeply He loves each young person.
Thus, Don Bosco Youth Services at BIRDY with its director Fr B Charan Kumar sdb organized a three-day retreat for the youth of the province. It was a great way to get back on track spiritually through the sacraments, prayer, reflection, praise and worship. The theme was “Return to the Lord, Come, Listen and Grow”. Fr Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar, the provincial, Fr Santiagu Thomas, the Vice Provincial and Fr Ashok, Director of Don Bosco Social Communications have animated the young on virtual / YouTube live channel from 6-8 August 2020 from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm. There were about 644 youth who participated in the online retreat. The online youth retreat ended with a message from Fr Provincial, “the youth need to keep trusting the Lord and look to the future by rising from difficult times and crisis”.
