On Wednesday 26th August 2020, the community of St John’s Regional Seminary, Kondadaba organized plantation of different fruit plants viz., Coconut, Mango, Guava, Chikoo, Custard Apple and Drumstick. Around 85 different fruit plants have been planted in its premises. It was inaugurated with a prayer by Fr Jojaiah, the Spiritual Director invoking the blessings of God and followed by Fr Rayanna, the Rector of the Seminary giving a message wherein, he said “we have been eating the fruits of the trees which are planted by our forefathers and now it is our duty to plant trees and give fruits to our future generations.” He encouraged the gathering to plant trees and takes care of them.
This occasion is planned on the Birthday of St Teresa of Calcutta who left the world better than what she found when she was born. In this pro-ecological initiative event was participated by all the co-workers, painters, few villagers and the staff of the community. All the participants have planted a tree each and watered it doing their bit for the better world. This noble event reminds us of the words of Mahatma Gandhi “Let there be change in the world and let it begin with me.” This small step towards common good can make some change in the common home. Let us all do the justice to the nature by planting trees., Kudos to Fr G Carlo, Dean and the Administrator, who organized it along with other co-workers. St John’s Regional Seminary, Kondadaba is not tired of trying in this Year of “Laudato Si”, to grow in RETHINKING, RECONNECTING, and RENEWING.
