24 May 2021, Don Bosco Provincial House: The province of Hyderabad beams with Joy because God has blessed the province with seven young Salesians committed themselves to God and to the congregation in perpetuity and seven more Salesians have renewed their vows on this occasion. Due to the lockdown and immobility, it caused another 38 Salesians renewed their vows in various communities.
When the whole world is reeling under the perils of pandemic, this celebration brings joy and hope to the province. The final commitment ceremony began at 6.00 pm on 24th May 2021. The confreres of the Provincial house community and Birdy community were present for the solemn Eucharistic Celebration. The Holy Eucharistic celebration began with a procession followed by vestition, renewals, and final professions. The Perpetual Profession ceremony went on devoutly and prayerfully.
In his homily Fr Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar, the provincial highlighted the need to belong to God completely. “When we surrender our lives completely, we enjoy peace, serenity and fulfillment” he added. He also spoke of Blessed Mother’s presence in the lives of Salesians who commit themselves faithfully. The previous provincials of the province of St Joseph, Hyderabad Fr Medabalimi Balaswamy, sdb and Fr Maddhichetty Noel, sdb were present and blessed the perpetually professed confreres. After the celebration, Bro. Suresh representing the newly professed proposed the vote of thanks followed by cake cutting by the professed. At the end of the celebrations, a sumptuous meal was served and everyone went away thanking God for accomplishing great things for the province.
