St Theresa’s Church, Sanathnagar, Hyderabad, 08 August 2021: National Youth Sunday is a distinctive time to celebrate the role and significance of young people in the Catholic Church. National Youth Sunday is an opportunity to recognise young people as a gift in the Church, empowering the youth ministry and parish community to celebrate young people and affirm the contribution of young people in the Church and those who collaborate with them.
Accordingly, twenty vibrant young people of St Theresa’s Church took Solemn Promise that they would give their complete effort and talents to fulfil the duties and bring initiatives that focus on the growth of the parish to mark the National Youth Sunday. Most importantly, vowed that they would strive to be the witnesses of Christ by their selfless service to the humanity and to be true to the promise that they have taken. As a sign of solidarity, the youth reached out to the 175 inmates of Birds of the Air, a centre for destitutes, Rajendra Nagar, Hyderabad. Textbooks, notebooks, stationary items, and groceries were given to them. They raised money through “Gospel Band.” A special thanks to Father Papaiah, the Parish Priest, Father Ashok, the Youth Animator and Parish Council.
