Don Bosco Navajeevan, Visakhapatnam, 16 August 2021: On the joyous day of Birthday of Don Bosco, father and friend of youth, Don Bosco Navajeevan, a home for the street children, made the day a memorable one by reaching out to the children, youth, and families at large at Mettapalem, near S. Kota, Visakhapatnam the remotest village from where many tribal children come to Navajeevan to study.
After three Kilometres of walk with provisions, masks, and awareness material on Covid, Father Kalyan, sdb, the administrator and collaborators reached the village. They have gathered all the children and youth to bring awareness on Covid pandemic and instil the spirit of Don Bosco through cultural programmes like dances & singing. The entire village experienced the freshness in their hearts and minds with the presence of Salesians and the staff. The Birthday of Don Bosco was celebrated by singing a Birthday song to Don Bosco. Instantly, Father Kalyan instructed on Covid precautionary measures during pandemic. The masks, toiletry kits and provisions were distributed to the tribals, the vulnerable children of God. We also thank God for the lay collaborators, friends and well-wishers for their selfless service and generous contributions in our mission.
