Communication for communion was the theme of the annual BIS (Bosco Information Services) correspondents of Salesian Province of Hyderabad, held on August 3 2012 at Don Bosco Provincial house, HydeBr Vincent Castilinorabad. Coming at the point where the latest technologies and options outweigh the knowledge and the use of it, especially among the religious and priests, the one day-meet, focused on the need to constantly read, reflect and write making use of the vast gamut of means available. "there is a general reluctance among the Salesians to read and write," was the challenge of Fr Raminedi Balaraju, the Provincial to the 22 Participants.

The morning session dwelt on the most important criterion to be followed while filing news stories (for the web and print media). Learning was made concrete through the exercises the participants were asked to do as per guidelines offered. The session before lunch was more technical in as much as the whole idea of BIS was elaborated and the evolution of the present state of the Provincie website explained. The post lunch session involved another round of exercises and summing up of the day's learning. The meet was coordinated by Fr Thathireddy Vijayabhaskar, the Vice-Provincial and delegate for Social Communications and animated by Br Vincent Castilino.

As part of the meet there was the proposal to file in news reports, every week, from every community consistently so that there is a greater publicity of the great amount of good being done in and through our Salesian communities spread accross the state of Andhra Pradesh and Orissa. Fr Thathireddy also took the opportunity to remind the confreres of the upcoming golden jubilee of the Salesian presence in Andhra Pradesh and the need to come up with something befitting the occasion.  Fr Provincial too, in his inagural message, exhorted the need to more vibrant in the communication sector so as to give greater visibility to the Salesian charism and activities.Fr Thathireddy

Soon after the sessions and tea, most of the participants enjoyed a good game of football before returning back to their respective communities. The hospitality of the Provincial house was greatly appreciated.
