The Assumption Church, Pezzonipeta, Vijayawada initiated a novel celebration on the feast of the Holy family on 30th December, 2012. Family plays a vital role in growing as a human person. The Parish Priest Fr. Mariadas, With this end in mind to exemplify the Holy family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph as the model par excellence to appreciate and enhance our family life has organized a feast for the families of the parish. The parishners together with their family members participated in a meaningful celebration of the Holy Eucharist which highlighted the benefits of keeping together as a family and loving each other in a family atmosphere. The Family get together organized in the evening with lots of party games for the couples and their children enabled everyone present to enhance their understanding of a family life. Following the traditional values of our culture a felicitation ceremony was organized to respect and appritiate the couples celebrating their 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th and 30th year of married life. The entire Church premises was transformed into a huge joint family with all the parishners young and old present at the celebration greeting each other. The joy of agape (love) permeated all around with People bringing sweets and home-made edibles to share with the entire gathering. A power-point programme enlivened the spirits of the people as they watched the images of various programmes of the parish. The gathering came to an end with a prayerful Benediction service.
