A voluntary blood donation camp was organized in Don Bosco Academy on 6th of February 2013 at 10am by NSS Volunteers of the Academy. The Red Cross Society of Nalgonda conducted this camp and 90 of degree and P.G Students came forward to donate blood.
Dr Sudhakar, in charge of Red Cross society of Nalgonda speaking to the crowd on this occasion, said that if the younger generation pledge and come forward to give blood voluntarily, there will be no dearth of blood worldwide. He also added that requirements of safe blood were increasing and regular voluntary blood donations are vital for blood transfusion services. One of the members of the team Mrs. Reba said in her talk that a healthy adult could give blood 3-4 times a year without any problem. The withdrawn blood volume is restored within 24 hours, she dispelled the other fears and misconceptions of our students regarding blood donation.
Dr. Sudhakar and his team lauded the efforts of the organizers Fr. Anand, Fr. Balashowry and Mr. Venkanna Sir, the programme officer of Don Bosco NSS, in motivating the youth and efficaciously conducting the camp.
