Hyderabad, August 2015: The Bicentenary celebration of the birth of Don Bosco at the Province level had its culmination on 10 – 11 August 2015. It was a festive gathering of numerous Salesians and collaborators.
Fr Joseph Jayaraj SDB of the Chennai Province in his interactive session on 10th highlighted the necessity of being faithful disciples of Don Bosco in today’s context. His animation was of great worth that kept the spirit of celebration more at the level of personal introspection.
The celebration reached its peak on 11th as there were precious moments of sharing one’s vocation journey. It was a time for each one of us to reflect on our efforts of being the double of Don Bosco in our life through our mission. At the post lunch, a prayer service was animated for all the Salesians. It was an hour that was dedicated to be with Don Bosco. In deed all the moments of prayer and worship were well prepared in tune with the Bi-Centenary celebration.
“Renew your life with the missionary spirit of your founder” was the call of Arch Bishop Thumma Bala as he presided over the Eucharistic celebration. Fr. Provincial spoke on the significance of the event inviting the participants to thank God for the gift of Don Bosco, the champion of young. It was a huge gathering of priests, religious, members of the Salesian Family, youth and faithful who witnessed the conclusion of Bi-centenary celebration. Well organized cultural programme was fitting for the occasion.
The Don Bosco Provincial House and BIRDY together organized with the help of Salesians and collaborators coordinated by the Vice-Provincial. Let the spirit of Don Bosco in this time of Bi-centenary of his birth prevail all over us and on our Province. Let his presence take control of us as we move ahead in our mission.
