Hyderabad, 16 October 2015: A two day preparatory meet for the Provincial Chapter (PC) IX of the Salesian Province of Hyderabad (INH) was held on October 16 and 17, 2015 at the Provincial House, in Hyderabad. It was chiefly organised to verify the implementation of the General Chapter (GC) 27 and prepare a working draft of the Provincial Strategic Plan (PSP) for the coming sessenium 2015-2021. The Moderator, Fr Yeruva Joji facilitated the meet.
The 57 Chapter members were welcomed by Fr Raminedi Balaraju, the Provincial and invited to work towards a long term plan for the Province through this Chapter. Once the agenda was made clear and the different groups formed, the Moderator presented a summary of the responses to the questionnaires sent out earlier to the communities, to assess the impact of GC 27.
The 6 groups formed on the basis of the different settings in the Province then tried to formulate a working draft of the PSP for the coming sessenium, based on the GC 27, the plan of the Rector Major, and the priorities of the Province after the former Chapter. The various presentations, short clippings and charts assisted the members in this endeavour. Sometime was also spent in finalizing the modality of reviewing the scope of the various communities in the Province – something major in the Chapter proper.
Finally after a round of appreciation and greetings, Fr Provincial wished all the members the best for the Chapter proper which is due from November 9 to 12, 2015. Besides the 57 Salesians, another 12 members from the Salesian family too would be present as observers for the Chapter.
