Gagillapuram, 15 November 2015: 110 children from four villages around Gagillapuram participated in the Children’s Day program organized on Sunday, 15 November 2015.
The day was full of fun, learning and entertainment with a chirpy group of over 250 children in the age group of 10 to 16. Apart from the children of BSK-run tuition centres, there were 20 children from Adorers Convent, 58 from Holy Trinity Church, Begumpet Parish and 68 NSS volunteers from St.Francis College, Begumpet.
5 Fathers from nearby Parish and School gave inspirational and motivational talks on responsibilities of children, the need to set goals in life and work towards it. Members of the Children’s Parliament gave a demonstration of how they conduct their weekly parliamentary sessions, hold discussions and make resolutions. It was an enlightening moment for the other children who were not aware of this unique concept.
In the afternoon, the children had a session on film appreciation where three children’s films were screened. Thereafter, it was all fun and games. There were several group activities and sports conducted by the DB Tec Students of Gagillapuram.
The entire day was held in the beautiful premises of DBHRDC. At the end of the day the whole programme was successful due to the hard work of Fr. P Arul Das – Director of BSK, Mr. Anthony, Mr.S Ambedkar – Coordinator of Children’s Parliament, staff, teachers and sisters from Adorers Convent who collaborated and made it a memorable day for the children.
