Hyderabad, 22 Feb 2016: D B Tech Centre Heads of the province of Hyderabad met on Monday, 22 February 2016 at the Don Bosco Provincial House, Hyderabad for review and deliberation on the way forward. The new Provincial, Fr.Thathireddy Vijay Bhaskar, former Provincial, Fr.R Balaraju, Asst.Director DB Tech National Office Fr.George Mathew, Director DB Skill Mission Fr.Arul Maran were presided over the meeting.
State Head, Fr.P Arul Das welcomed the gathering with a felicitation to the new provincial. He gave a brief report on the current status and agenda of the meeting. This was followed by an opening prayer by Fr.Arul Maran.
Addressing the gathering, Fr.Provincial said that the DB Tech Centres were “a blessing and a boon for the needy youth.” He congratulated the DB Tech incharge and the state head for being instrumental in growing from 5 centres to 14 centres, by offering job-oriented training in 10 domains to over 3000 youth every year.
Fr.R Balaraju appreciated the hard work of the staff in reaching thousands of youngsters in a short period of time. Fr.George Mathew said, “We are happy that Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments are inviting us to start different programs in their respective states.”
Fr.Arul Maran introduced the new DB Tech State Coordinator for Andhra Pradesh, Mr.Srinivas Rao.
Discussions on issues and suggestions to develop the program further, continued into late afternoon. Centre heads of Ongole, Nalgonda, Kurnool, BIRDY and Vizag – Fr.T Santiagu, Fr.V Balashowry, Fr.P T Phillip, Fr.K T Jose, Fr.Ratna Kumar respectively, as also staff representatives of other DB Tech centres attended the meeting.
