A long awaited initiation of the Association of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA) was held at Don Bosco, Guntur on 5 March 2018. Seventeen faithful from three parishes namely Assumption Church – Pezzonipet, Don Bosco – Guntur and Don Bosco – Ravulapalem accompanied by Fr Chinnabathuni Louis, Fr Guvvala Balaraju and Fr Thota Mariadas participated in it.
Fr Joe Kallupura, ADMA Spiritual Animator of Bangalore Province along with Fr Yeruva Joji, Vice Provincial and Salesian Family Delegate animated the initiated about the ADMA. The ADMA group was christened in Telugu as “Cristuvula Sahayamatha Bhakta Brundam.”
Fr Joe Kallupura expressed his joy about this initiative and said that ADMA will strengthen the devotees of Mary Help of Christians to witness the filial love that we have for Mother Mary in the families, parishes and province. He explained to them that the main responsibility together with Eucharistic and Marian devotion in their life, was to pray for Salesian Priests and for vocations to the Salesian Family.
This initiation also coincides with the commemoration of the blessing of the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Turin. Various clarifications about the organization, animation, promise and follow up were given in this meeting. Confreres who were present felt that the ample time for preparation is required for the promise. This has been a noble initiative taken up by the Province to promote, to spread and to strengthen the devotion to Mary Help of Christians.
