The annual meeting of the Salesians involved in Salesian Formation, was held in Don Bosco Provincial House, Hyderabad on 9 and 10 April, 2018. 15 Salesians from the Aspirantate, Pre-Novitiate, Novitiate and Post-Novitiate of the Salesians and also from the Diocesan Minor and Major Seminary which is run by us were present for the meeting. The first day of the meeting was focused on the presentation and discussion of the general report of the recently concluded evaluation of the Formation Houses. The detailed presentation of the report by Fr Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar, the Provincial, was followed by a group discussion which focused mainly on the review and renewal of the Provincial Directory of Formation. This discussion carried on into the post lunch session too. The secretaries then presented their observations and suggestions for the renewal of the Provincial Directory of Formation. Fr Yeruva Joji, the vice Provincial then presented the Formation plan / SEPP 2018 – 2019. At 7:15 Vespers and the Holy Eucharist were celebrated, followed by supper.
On 10 April, the day began with the celebration ‘Lauds and Holy Eucharist’ guided by Fr. Jose Matthew. The entire day was animated by Fr Jose Mathew. His presentation was filled with wisdom and the vast experience that he carries with him. He explained about the various factors which affect the formation of the young people, with a specific stress on the need to qualify oneself for this important task of accompanying people in their formation process. This annual meeting was a fruitful experience of sharing, interaction and formation. It was truly a moment when formators were formed.
