God calls, Jesus Chooses and Don Bosco awaits is the central theme which captured the attention of all who attended the vocation camp. St Joseph province of Hyderabad was blessed with 37 candidates for the summer vocation camp respectively from both Telugu speaking states. All though the office of the vocation promotion was vacant for some time due to various reasons, the name of Don Bosco is already popular among young people.
Vocation camp started on 2nd May in the evening with the inauguration ceremony for which Fr Salibindla Balashowry the Rector of Navajeevan Vijayawada was the chief guest. During the Holy Eucharistic he said “Don’t be frightened that you are not capable to carry out the God’s mission, He will bless you with numerous blessings because you are going to do the Gods mission. You may look like fools in the sight of your friends and world but in the sight of God we will be His dearest sons”.
On the following day Fr. Thota Mariadas animated the day’s session on the theme “ CALL OF GOD”. Third day of the camp animated by Fr T.Willson on the theme DON BOSCO- During his sessions he stressed on the call of DON BOSCO, and his vision for the Youth in the catholic church and passion for the saving of the souls.
A day of pilgrimage was organized to Pedda Outupalli and to Gunadala Matha shrine to increase the devotion and bring closed to God as Don Bosco used to do. Fr Joji the vocation promoter talked on the charism of the Province and the work of the various sectors as province and as a congregation. Br Ch. Gregory animat
ed the fourth day of the camp. During his presentation he also talked on the vocation of Salesian Brotherhood.
The visit of Fr Vijay Bhaskar, our provincial on the last day, brought joy and happiness like beaming sun on the faces of camp boys. He offered a mass as a Thanks giving for the gift of many vocations to our congregation in spite of the uncooperative situations came up during the course of the year. There was also a short and fine tuned cultural
program as valedictory function, during which Fr Provincial said “ God’s call is so different for each one, for those did not get selected don’t be discouraged because he had a some other plan.
A final touch was given by Fr G. Kishore, the new rector to Gunadala about their coming back and requirements to fulfill on their return. “All hail to you Don Bosco” was the slogan on the tongues of the boys as they departed to their homes with mixed feelings of both cheerless and gladness of missing and reaching homes.
We thank Fr Yeruva Joji, Br Naresh G. and Br Justin P, for all the hard work and effort put in the vocation promotion and in the animation of the vocation camp. God will surely send many good souls to work in his vineyard.
Fr Joji, the Vocation Promoter, Br Naresh the camp chief and Br Justin felt contented after the camp for the fruits of their hard work in short time inspite of facing many difficulties as they went around hunting for the fishers of men.
