July 5, 2019, Mariapuram, Telangana:
A few months ago, Bosco Seva Kendra, the Project and Development Office of the Salesian Province of St. Joseph, Hyderabad and BoscoNet, Delhi, the Head Office of all Development Activities for the Salesians in India and its staff, were grateful to have received CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) funding to purchase five new buses for rural schools in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The main donor and benefactor, the General Insurance Corpora tion of India of those five school buses were invited to partake in a special inauguration ceremony for the new buses and the start off a new school year at Don Bosco School, Mariapuram.

Five school buses were donated to Don Bosco School, Mariapuram who received two of them and with Don Bosco School, Wyra, Ravulapalem and Punganur each receiving one separately.


In honour of the main donor, General Insurance Corporation of India, the Deputy General Manager of the Company, Mr. Radhakrishna attended this event at Don Bosco School, Mariapuram, Telangana for the blessings, felicitations and thanksgiving to the Company who choose to partner with us to support rural education in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The event began at 11.30 am at the School where special arrangements were made by the Principal, Management, Staff and Students to celebrate this occasion. The ceremony began with a blessing and inauguration of the new buses for the new academic year. In attendance for the event was the Chief Guest, Mr. Radhakrishna, as well as the Former Provincial and Director of Mission Procure for South Asia, Fr. Madichetty Noel, Provincial of the Salesian Province of St. Joseph, Hyderabad, Fr. Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar, Mr. Samrat Ganguly, Head Resource Mobilisation and Strategic Partnership, BoscoNet, Delhi, Fr. Vatti Rayappa, Correspondent and Fr. Sudhakar Bellamkonda, Executive Director of Bosco Seva Kendra.

After this event, the students of Grade 8 and 9 organized a dance. The Chief Guest, Mr. Radhakrishna was felicitated with a shawl, offered a bouquet and a momento from the School. The Provincial presented him a medal of Don Bosco from Turin, Italy and the students and teachers offered him a thanksgiving message from the entire school. All the staff, administrators, teachers and personnel involved at Don Bosco School, Mariapuram, Bosco Seva Kendra and BoscoNet, Delhi thank all the employees, administrators and leaders of GIC India for aiding Don Bosco Schools and in particular Don Bosco School at Mariapuram in the mission of making a positive difference for the youth and the poor in India.
