Gagillapur, Wednesday, 3rd July, 2019: June 2, 2019 marks the fifth anniversary of the birth of the state of Telangana. The first action of the new state of Telangana was to develop a program where all residents of the state of Telangana would be provided with free saplings to plant in their homes, communities and institutions across the region. The purpose of this program was to advance environmental stewardship and celebrate the first action of the new state which was the concern for the protection of the environment and public health.
To mark this occasion, the staff at Don Bosco Human Resource Development Center, Gagillapur, a center that provides highly subsidized technical education and skills training for poor youth and youth at risk in Telangana and beyond invited Bosco Seva Kendra, the Project and Development Office of the Salesian Province of St. Joseph, Hyderabad, its Executive Director, Fr. Sudhakar Bellamkonda, who also serves as the Director for the center, as well as staff and administrators at BSK added flavour to its campus in Gagillapur for a tree planting ceremony.
Around 50 students both girls and boys studying in the various technical programs at the DBHRDC, Gagillapur and some of the residential students who reside in our campus associated with Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., were in attendants for this event.
