Don Bosco ITI, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, 20 August 2019: Employers lack people who can accurately interpret what others say, organize and express their thoughts clearly. In today’s work environment, many jobs involve Communication skills.
Don Bosco ITI, Guntur, Don Bosco Printing Press Guntur, and Emirates Printing Press, Dubai jointly organised the an Half-Day Seminar on ‘Employability Skills for Today and Tomorrow’ to discuss the Employability skills required by today’s groups and organisations in business. The seminar began at 9.30 am in the community hall. Fr Sanjay, the Principal of Don Bosco ITI and Fr Showry Chinnabathuni, Manager of Don Bosco Printing Press were present on the dais. Fr Sanjay, the Principal of Don Bosco ITI, introduced the resource persons to the students and staff of the institute who were about 160. He thanked Mr Mr Nagesh, HR of Printing Press, Dubai for recruiting two of the ITI students in Dubai in the first week of August 2019 in the Job Fair organized here in Don Bosco ITI itself.
Mr Nagesh, HR of Printing Press and Mr. Dhamodhran a local representative were the resource persons. Mr Nagesh, shared his thoughts on the theme ‘Employability Skills for Today and Tomorrow’. He too expanded on personality development, problem-solving, oral communication, adaptability, collaboration, resource management, organizational skills, written communication and technology use etc. Conversely, he exhorted the students that improved basic education and core work skills are particularly important to enable them to engage in lifelong learning as well as transition to the labour market. After his presentation, the students and the staff interacted for a while on employability skills with Mr Nagesh, and he clarified their queries. A vote of thanks was proposed by one of the Staff and the seminar concluded.
