Gagillapur, Hyderabad, 5 September 2019: On 5th of September, 2019 Don Bosco Human Resource and Development Centre (DBHRDC) had organized a seminar on “Gender Equality and Gender Equity among Young People”. Fr Ashok sdb was the resource person for the programme. The programme sought to address the challenges within the region and Nation, such as domestic violence, child neglect, sexual abuse and human trafficking of the young. These challenges affect the welfare of children, youth, young adults and women in the society and the country.

Thus, in order to bring awareness of these problems, Don Bosco Human Resource and Development Centre (DBHRDC) organized a two-day seminar on “Gender Equality and Gender Equity”. This programme is useful for the development of the students and family and its nature as the parents neglect to educate a female child. They do not give full attention to the female child, as they take care of the male child. These days a girl child feels family as her own, her male kith and kin as equal to herself but the absence of this notion sometimes leads to the extent of committing suicide.

“Gender Equality and Gender Equity among the Young People” programme is helpful to the youth to respect human person, to walk in a right direction and to become role models of today’s youth. And so, the students of Don Bosco Human Resources Development Centre at Church Gagillapur partaken attentively in this seminar. They have interacted with Fr Ashok positively during the sessions. They also enacted skits and short plays on the proposed theme. They performed all the skits well. They have benefitted from this “Gender Equality and Gender Equity among the Young People” programme.
