Don Bosco, Muniguda, 9-11 January 2020: Being the month of Don Bosco, the community of Don Bosco, Muniguda organized a three-day Youth Retreat for the young people of Rayagadda Diocese and animated them spiritually in their Christian Faith. With the initiative of the community, and the help of Fr Uma Kant Nayak, the Youth Director of Rayagada diocese and the youth leaders of diocese have come together and planned to have this Retreat from 9-11th January, 2020. There were around 98 participants from all the parishes of Rayagada diocese. The theme of this retreat is centered on ‘That you are young is enough for me to love you,’ the famous maxim of Don Bosco.
Fr Ajit Nayak, the Parish Priest of Aligarh was invited to be the animator for the three-day retreat. The retreat for the young people began with the opening session on 9th evening where the preacher spiritually motivated the young people to participate in the retreat whole heartedly and prayerfully. He invited them to fall in love with the Word of God and come to know him more deeply in their lives. The next morning Fr Shanti Chandan Pani, the Vicar General of the Rayagada diocese spent some time with the young people and offered the Holy Eucharist for them and for their intentions. On 11th morning His Lordship Most Rev. Aplinar Senapati CM, the Bishop of Rayagada Diocese offered the Holy Eucharistic celebration for all the young people and the Parishioners. He was truly a great moral and spiritual support for the youth. The strenna of the year invites us ‘to be Good Christians and Honest Citizens,’ so too his Lordship addressed all the young people on the Feast of Baptism of the Lord, to be good role models and to live their Christian life more profoundly in the service of the Lord and in the service of others.
At the end of the retreat, the youth expressed their joy and happiness and went back to their own places with renewed vigor and enthusiasm in their Christian life and in their faith. The Fr P. Arul Das sdb, the Rector expressed a great sense of gratitude to Bishop for his encouragement and Fr Uma Kanth for his availability and also thanked Fr Ajit for animating the young people spiritually and for strengthening them in their faith, he thanked Fr Anil Mallavarapu sdb, and other community members for their help and support.
