Don Bosco Provincial House, Hyderabad, 9-10 December 2019: The young priests below five years of priesthood and the local community youth animators gathered for the second meeting of the year in Hyderabad at Provincial House, Bandlaguda from 9-10th December 2019 to discuss and share about the effectiveness of one’s ministry in the community.
On the first day, Fr Santiagu Thomas, the Vice-Provincial animated the young priests on the theme ‘Self-Care’. Speaking to the participants he exhorted each one to give importance to the Salesian practices of piety and to pay attention to the spiritual side of one’s life. During Q and A, many shared their views regard to the topic and expressed their opinions on self-care.
As an old adage says “Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.” Fr Thomas arranged an outing to the farm house at the outskirts of Hyderabad for relaxation and sharing. It was a day of fun and joy for all of them.
In the Evening Fr Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar, the provincial animated the session on “Seven Habits of Highly Effective People” by Stephen Covey. After the presentation many of them personalized these habits into their context and shared their personal experiences. It was an impact-filled sharing. Being the feast of Immaculate Conception, Fr Rajesh, the assistant press manager of Guntur Community organized a meaningful Rosary Service.
On the second day, Fr Raja Donthi, the youth animator of the province animated on the relevant topic “Career-Guidance”. It covered most of the areas of the job-fetching possibilities for the youth of today.
During the feed-back hour, many youth animators expressed their views and gave their valuable suggestion to improvise the presentation by including the contact numbers of various companies and to add more details to it.
In the afternoon, the forthcoming youth programmes of the province were discussed and planned. The meeting was concluded with prayer.
