Don Bosco Provincial House, Hyderabad, 15-16 October 2019: The province of St Joseph is blessed every year with young volunteers from Europe. In these countries, every youngster has two options after completion of their intermediate, either to join for military training to serve their own nation or to do some social work according their wish in their country or foreign land. Some of them like to do their travel all the way from their home town to different countries to render their service to the people. We, the Salesian congregation creates such room for the young volunteers to experience to enrich their lives for better understanding the situation of human race. To make this a reality the province of St Joseph conducted a two day seminar to accompany these young people to prepare them for this encounter in the different parts of our province.
Therefore, in the first meeting, eighteen volunteers had attended hailing from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The programme began with a prayer. The theme for the day was Preventive System of Don Bosco. The section was led by Rev. Fr Thomas Santiago sdb, Vice-provincial. He spoke the importance and the role of this system in the time of Don Bosco and in the present times of the world. In the afternoon, some of the Volunteers who are already in the field shared their views of their projects where they are working. The next day, there was a a group site seeing to Golconda Fort, Charminar and Birla Mandir. The programme ended with a festive dinner. It was nice to see these young people (age between 18 and 20) with social motive at their heart.
