Don Bosco, Ongole, 7 April 2020: The Ongole Don Bosco community extended the support for COVID-19 related relief activities. The Salesians distributed provisions to the poor in Balaji Nagar, Dattatrya Colony, Siva Prasad Colony, Kesavaraju Gunta, Islampet, Balram Colony, Vijaya Nagar Colony, Dharavari Thota, Yanadi Colony and Papa Colony.
The Salesian community approached the District Collector’s Office for the approval to distribute the essential commodities. After receiving the approval from the District Collector’s Office on 07-04-2020 the Salesians started the distribution to several poor migrant families and in collaboration with a few volunteers. Provisions were packed with the help of confreres, staff and volunteers. The 200 hundred families were given some Rice, Dal, Onions, Oil and Soaps. Fr Jose Kollithanathu, the Rector, told that the distribution of essential kits would also continue in coming days too!
