Don Bosco Academy, Nalgonda, 8 April 2020: The entire world is shaken up due to Corona Virus (Covid-19). Millions of people across the world are affected and thousands of people are dying. Tens and thousands are starving and left on the roads without a home. The developed or superpower countries are struggling to cope up with this pandemic, due to inadequate medical facilities and its rapid spread. Each of us are bombarded with messages of the statistics of numerous people affected and thousands of people who die. States and Countries are shut down and are under lockdown. In this disturbing situation helplessness of human being visible and he turns to God for help. God in his mercy had been protecting all of us until date. Therefore, it is our utmost duty and responsibility to extend our help and support to the starving and the homeless.

Due to lockdown, everything is in standstill situation. The poor and the migrant daily wage-earning workers are struggling and starving. In response to this uncontrollable rapid spreading of Covid-19, Don Bosco Academy (A unit of ‘Chandur Don Bosco Society’), reached out to the poor and needy. On 7th April 2020, on the third death anniversary of Rev. Fr Gopu Anand, the Founder Director, Don Bosco Academy extended a help to more 250 families of the poor, homeless and migrant workers of ‘Indiramma and Rajiv Gruhakalpa Colonies,’ by providing them essential groceries sufficient for one week. Lay staff, brothers, Frs Balashowry-Rector, Shantamurthy-Administrator and Fr Anup-dean of Don Bosco Academy have participated in this noble distribution programme. The local leaders Mr Nagireddy, the Ward Councilor and other colony heads were also present. The poor people who received the help were very happy and were very grateful for what they have received.
