Don Bosco Navajeevan (DBNJ), Warangal, 9 April 2020: Don Bosco Navajeevan staff distributed essential groceries at AC Reddy Nagar and Puppalagutta slum areas and to the migrants at Warangal railway station. The Provisions were distributed viz., Rice (5 kg), Oil, Onions and Potatoes enough for two days. DBNJ extended support to nearly 30 families in slums and 24 families of migrants and beggars.
During the distribution an awareness was given on COVID-19 and precaution measures explained. Women, men and children maintained social distance and showed their gratitude to DBNJ for being with them during the crisis.
Don Bosco Mission Complex, Mariapuram, 9 April 2020: The Salesians of Don Bosco Mission Complex Mariapuram with the knowledge of Tahsildar of Inavol Mandal arranged free distribution of provisions for 100 families at 6 villages like Singaram, Inavol, Kondaparthi, Molakpalli migrants, Punnelu, Kakkiralapally and Nandhanam. The Salesians have distributed provisions Rice (5kgs), Tomatoes, Onions, Potatoes, Salt, Oil and Dal enough for give days.
During the distribution key issues and problems were noticed: losing their livelihood and basic needs due to lockdown by the state government of Telangana in preventing the spread of COVID 19. The local Panchayath and government officials co-operated with Don Bosco Mariapuram in reaching out to the poor who are suffering due to lock down. The Salesians are grateful to them for their cooperation. Similarly, the Salesians with the leadership of Fr Maramreddy Prakash, the Rector spread awareness of washing hands, social distancing, precautionary measures to the people in every area. The Rector too expressed his gratitude to Fr Melchior (Administrator), Fr A. R Jose, Bro Ashok and Bro Justin for their timely support and collaboration.
