Bosco Seva Kendra (BSK), Hyderabad, 11 April 2020: Covid-19 relief services have been carried out across the twin cities by the BSK for the most neglected and needy who are migrated from different parts of India like Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha, Chattisgarh, Bihar, Rahasthan, Maharashtra, Karntaka etc. In addition, BSK also extended support to the migrants from different districts of Telugu states Srikakulam, Prakasham, Nellore, Kurnool, Viziangaram, Mahaboobnagar, Krimnagar, Nalgonda, Adilabad, Medak and alike.
BSK is indeed happy to collaborate with Greater Hyderabad Muncipal Corporation (GHMC), in providing face masks in two of its zones viz., Serilingampally, Kukkatpally. Likewise, GHMC is appreciative of the yeomen services of BSK rendered during difficult times (Covid-19). The relief services are noticed by the Rajbhavan Secretariat, Telangana. Consequently, on the invitation of Sri. C.N Raghu Prasad Deputy Secretary to Governor basing on the tweet posted by Smt Prashanthi Vangeepuram, Deputy Commissioner-GHMC, Kukkatpally.
Accordingly, Fr Bellamkonda Sudhakar, Executive Director, BSK along with Fr Sarath, Asst. Executive Director and Fr Gnanapraksam, Workshop Manager, Don Bosco Navajeevan (DBNJ) Rehabilitation Centre, Ramanthapur participated in the food distributed campaign at Raj Bhavan by honourable Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, Governor, Telangana. Hence, 2500 face masks were handed over to the Governor as a small contribution from Don Bosco Network, Hyderabad. These face masks were stitched by the Non-Formal Vocational Training students of Don Bosco Navajeevan, (DBNJ) Rehabilitation Centre, Ramanthapur. The honourable Governor, in her personal interaction, appreciated the NGOs in general and in particular the services offered by Don Bosco as NGO for the relief works carried out during Covid-19 pandemic.
The BSK is thankful to Sri. K Surendra Mohan, IAS, Secretary to Governor for facilitating and allotting time to interact with the honourable Governor. Similarly, BSK is grateful to Sri. C.N Raghu Prasad Deputy Secretary to Governor and Smt Prashanthi Vangeepuram, Deputy Commissioner-GHMC, Kukkatpally in assisting to meet the honourable Governor.
