Don Bosco, Patsala Tadiparru, 17 April 2020: The lockdown has affected the poor communities due to loss of livelihood and lack of food, shelter, health, and other basic amenities. The government has scarce resources to protect the health and well-being of the population, and left tens of thousands of out-of-work migrant workers stranded, with rail and bus services closed. The blunt closure of state borders have caused interference in the supply of essential goods. The many homeless people are in need of protection.
In this pitiful situation, the Salesians at Patsala Tadiparru offered provisions to the poor families in Moparru, Brahmanakodur and Ponnur Stage 3 villages. These families are not allowed to go to work due to Covid-19 pandemic and lockout. Although, the VRO, village volunteers and the elders have tried helping them in kind giving them a food, the poor families need daily essential groceries and provisions to live on. Subsequently, Fr Mattathilani Abraham, Fr Gorumuchu Christuraju and Fr Kasu Lourdhu Reddy shared the love and concern in distributing Rice (5Kg) and Dal (1Kg) to ensure that all of them have access to food and health care. The poor families expressed their appreciation and thankfulness to them.
