Don Bosco Mission Ravulapalem, 16-17 April 2020: Don Bosco Mission Ravulapalem swung into action to reach out to the poor during the ongoing pandemic. With the government’s sudden lock-down order and inadequate essential grocery items to survive, migrant labourers have stranded at different regions. Hence, the Salesian Community thought of meeting the urgent needs of the people with some food packets and masks with social awareness campaign to the poor people around the institution and other eight villages viz., Ravulapalem, Ravulapadu, Eethakota, Mummadivarapadu, Padogatlapalli, Enugulamahal, Deverapalli and Vadapalli.
The Salesians packed 300 nutritious food items such as rice-5 kg, dal-1 kg, oil-1 litre, tamarind-1 pkt, and a towel and five masks. With the help of Mr Krishna, Circle Inspector of Ravulapalem, distributed the food items and masks. So far, two rounds of distribution were done and there are more plans to reach out to the needy in villages.
