Don Bosco School, Bandlaguda Jagir, Hyderabad, 19, 21 & 22 December 2020: Christmas season is always an eagerly anticipated event and a joyous occasion for the school community. This year’s celebrations were filled with festive activities, carol singing, tiny tots writing letters to Santa, Christmas card and Christmas tree ornament making and a crib making competition.
On the 19th of December, the pre-primary children and their parents had a fun-filled Christmas Carnival. Students were treated to a magic show, games and entertainment by their teachers. On 21st the Primary Section had their celebrations in the morning while the Secondary section had their festivities in the afternoon. A class-wise carol singing competition was one of the major highlights followed by a Nativity Skit performed by Class 9 students with a beautiful depiction of the birth of Jesus. A cheerful visit from Santa Claus added to the excitement. Rev. Fr Santiagu, the Correspondent of the school was the chief guest and he delivered a meaningful message for Christmas. Fr Sarath and Sr Moksha had consented to judge the carol singing competition.
A special event this year was a crib-making contest for the secondary school that was on the 23rd. Children decorated their classrooms and set up a nativity scene. They did an outstanding job! Fr Salagala Rajesh and Fr Baly Yerramaneni were the judges for this contest. Christmas cake was distributed to every child in the school, thereafter.
The teachers too had their special celebrations. The school management organized lunch for the teachers and each member of the staff was given a gift. Teachers too exchanged their Secret Santa gifts and were happy to have Fr Banda Suresh present for the occasion along with Fr Santiago. Fr Chinnappa, the Principal of the school, warmly greeted the teachers and wished everyone a joyous Christmas.
