12 June 2021, Bosco Seva Kendra (BSK), Hyderabad: Seva Kendra (BSK) is the planning and development office of the Salesian Province of Hyderabad for the last 29 years with its social and developmental initiatives in the states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha. BSK focusses on the upliftment of the Poor, the vulnerable Children, Women who are economically backward, Youth who are unemployed and unskilled especially holistic and community development.
In last one half of year BSK was at the service of the needy through its 32 Don Bosco Institutes and with 121 Civil Society Organizations spread across Telugu States during the COVID 19 pandemic. It has reached out to 7,20,000 people from 26th March 2020 to 31st March 2021 with generous support of benefactors, donor agencies and corporate partners.
As part of 2nd Wave, BSK continues to involve actively with the support of many organizations like Zomato India, Nestle India, Accenture, Bosco Net – New Delhi in distributing cooked food at Bandalaguda Jagir Muncipal areas. It has reached out more than 700 persons who are tested positive and in isolation with cooked food. Similarly, cooperating with Civil Society organizations at Kuntlur near Haythnagar, served food to 5000 migrants since 6th May 2021 who lost their daily work. In addition, Father Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar, sdb, Provincial, Father Bellamkonda Sudhakar, sdb, Executive Director of BSK and Father Parri Sarath, Assistant Director of BSK have distributed 750 dry ration kits to the guest workers (Migrants) at Hayathnagar, Gagillpur, Balanagar, Suraram, Nehrunagar, Santhnagar ESI, Balkampet, Moosapset, Erragada, Bharat Pet, Borabanda on 12 June 2021. Still, it has been scheduled to distribute 6000 food kits and 5000 Medical kits to the rural daily wage workers who lost their work in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha in forthcoming months.
