Don Bosco Human Resource Development Center, 2 August 2015: “The powerful weapon of it’s Nation is it’s Youth” Marking the Don Bosco’s Bicentenary Celebration of his Birth, the Hyderabad Province organized a Don Bosco Youth Fest to all the DB Tech Students of the Province.
A blissful morning extended it’s arms to hold this beautiful event. The youth fest began in the huge grounds of Don Bosco Human Resource Development Centre (DBHRDC) at Church Gagillapuram. This event was organized at the state level for the first time where both the DB Tech trainers and trainees from all the centers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana came together as one big family of 400 in number. Each one presented themselves with a special Don Bosco T-Shirt, to exhibit the uniformity of Skilling India.
Fr. P.Arul Das sdb, Director of Bosco Seva Kendra (BSK) Development Office of the Province and DB Tech State Head welcomed the gathering; by saying Don Bosco will be happy to see these 400 youth who are getting shaped to be good human beings and honest citizens. On this great occasion the chief guests Shri.R.S Praveen Kumar IPS, and Fr.Raminedi Balaraju, Provincial, planted a sapling each in marking this bicentenary year.
Shri.R.S.Praveen Kumar IPS inspired the gathering with his valuable words. He explained the present scenario of youth and emphasized on the importance of learning. He advised the students to “continue to learn till you reach your grave” and elaborated on the adverse effects of drinking and smoking on youth.
Fr. Arul Maran, Director, Don Bosco Skill Mission and Fr.Y Joji Reddy, Vice Provincial, delivered inspiring and motivating message to the young people. Mr.P.Venkateswarlu, C.I., Dindigul, appreciated Don Bosco Organization for the service rendered to poor youth in giving them a bright future. Fr.Paul Raj, Parish Priest of Gagillapur graced the occasion.
The beautiful traditional dances from different parts of the two Telugu-speaking states added charm and beauty to the event. The gathering had a sumptuous lunch.
In the afternoon, a movie on Don Bosco was screened for all the participants after which they moved on to fun and action songs and games for the trainees. The day ended with a prayer service enlightening the need of God with candle procession.
The presence of the chief guests and special guests turned the event from beautiful to a marvelous and most memorable one. Many priests, nuns and past pupils also joined the celebration. Mr. Sridhar, State Co-ordinator, proposed vote of thanks to all the participants, guests and special invitees.
