What type of Salesians for the Youth of Today was the sole thought in heart and mind for all the 62 Chapter members gathered together from 14 to 17 January, 2019 at Don Bosco Provincial House for the X Provincial Chapter of the Province of St. Joseph, Hyderabad. There were also representatives from MSMHC and FMA sisters, the Past Pupils, the Cooperators and the inspiring presence of a young person.
The Chapter discussions were smooth and cohesive. This was possible because of the hard work put in by the Moderator and the Preparatory Commission. The Chapter discussions began with a meaningful recollection guided by Fr Albert Johnson the Secretary of the SPCSA. The Holy Eucharists in the mornings and the adorations in the evening were meaningfully guided by different confreres. The Provincial Report gave a summative picture of the growth in the Province the past three years. It also presented clearly the concerns and the challenge.
The four days of the Chapter were hectic as the confreres put it almost 7 hours of discussion other than the spiritual animations, We have discussed and approved the renewed and upgraded format of the Economic and Formation Director. We also discussed about various topics like lay collaboration, salesian formation, our mission with the youth and others practical points pertaining to the reshaping, governance and planning of our Province.
A word of appreciation for Fr Thumma Vijay Prathap the moderator and Fr Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar the Provincial for guiding the discussions of the four days. It was a fruitful, meaningful and succesful activity which will surely bear fruit in due time
