Don Bosco, Muniguda, Odisha, 15 August 2019: The 73rd Independence Day Celebrations began with a colorful note, children entered the school campus dressed like different leaders of our nation. Fr Thomas Santiagu, the Vice-Provincial of Salesian Province of Hyderabad hoisted the National Flag and received the guard of honour. In his Independence day message, Fr Thomas Santiagu highlighted the sacrifices made by our leaders to get Independence to our Nation and we need to be responsible citizens in taking care of the Integrity of the nation. Fr Thomas distributed prizes for the students, who had won different competitions held on the eve of Independence Day. Fr P.Arul Das, the Rector and Fr.Telespore, the Principal participated in the programme.
Mandal Level Competitions: The Muniguda Mandal had conducted many competitions among the schools on the occasion of Independence Day. Don Bosco School, Muniguda participated in all the competitions and won prizes. All the winners were awarded with trophy on the Independence Day celebrations in the Mandal office.
Marian Academy: Don Bosco Mission, Muniguda had solemn celebration of Feast of Assumption concelebrated Holy Eucharist by Fr. Thomas Santiagu, the Vice-Provincial of Salesian Province of Hyderabad and community priests. Good number of parishioners participated in the Holy Eucharist. The Aspirants and Don Bosco Hostel boys had actively participated in the Marian month activities for past one month and as conclusion of Marian month and honour to our Blessed Mother, a Marian Academy was conducted, with lot of activities: dances, skirt, speeches, and recitation of poem on Blessed Virgin Mary at 6:30 pm. Fr Thomas Santiago had given an inspiring message on the importance of Mother in our human life. Fr. P Arul Das, the Rector thanked all the Fathers, brother and boys for the active involvement in the Marian month programmes. Marian Academy concluded with Prize a distribution rite.
