Don Bosco ITI, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, 22 August 2019: The 22nd of August 2019, marked as a memorable day in the life of every fresher at Don Bosco ITI, Guntur. The Fresher’s day brought in an excitement, joy, music, enthusiasm, laughter and happiness.

The celebration started at 9:45 am with words of welcome by Fr Medabalimi Balaswamy, the Rector and Correspondent. He welcomed the Freshers formally into the Don Bosco family on the right note of the inauguration of the Academic year 2019-20, which also included the introduction of the chief guest for the day Rev Fr Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar, Provincial, the guests of honour Rev. Fr Guvvala Balaraju, the Administrator and Rev Fr Showry Chinnabathuni, the Manager, Printing Press. He cordially welcomed the parents of the students too for the Parents’ Day. He exhorted the students and staff to work erroneously in Technical academics to yield a positive result.

Fr Provincial, the Chief Guest of the event, was warmly welcomed with a shawl and bouquet by Rev Fr Medabalimi Balaswamy. Fr Provincial in his message endorsed the chief aim of the technical education that, it makes the students skilled and technically fit for the industries. The technical education schemes are having very good opportunities for career and employment. He too said, “The true purpose of Fresher’s Day is to welcome newcomers in a friendly atmosphere and avoid social evils, to encourage their creative impulses to boost their confidence. It is the day where seniors and juniors finally bond and unite to celebrate being part of the college”. Furthermore, he announced the appointment letters of those two ITI students who were selected for a job at Dubai (in the Campus Job Fair that was organized two weeks ago).

Fr Sanjay, the Principal, in his message explained the rules, regulations and procedures of Don Bosco ITI. He recommended the students to focus on study skills which are an array of skills which tackle the process of organizing and taking in new information, retaining information, or dealing with assessments in order to achieve success and fetch a good career in the technical field.

Later, the program kick-started with all the students elegantly dressed and ready to perform cultural events like singing and dancing to entertain the freshers. There were about 400 participants including the parents and staff.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks from Mr Suryanayana, the Maths Teacher, followed by snacks. All the freshers including the seniors rocked the show under the guidance Fr Sanjay, the Principal. At the end, everyone enjoyed the celebrations and all thanked the Management, faculties. The freshers too thanked the senior students for hosting such a nice program that they could cherish lifelong.

The entire programme was a grand success. The best compliment received was by Fr Medabalimi Balaswamy, the Rector and Correspondent, “Well prepared, super-duper show”.
