St John’s Regional Seminary, Kondadaba, 30 August 2019: On 30th August 2019, an Annual Philosophical Symposium on Reweaving Democracy in India, Post – 2019, May 23 was held at St John’s Regional Seminary, Kondadaba. It was a one day seminar which is organized every year on different themes. The Symposium was moderated by Prof. Sudha Kavuri, Asst. Professor at Damodaram Sanjeevayya National Law University, Sabbavaram (DSNLU). She was also a Human Rights Activist and also the Grand Daughter of Sri Kondapalli Seetaramayya, the freedom fighter.

Fr Mallavarapu Rayanna, the Rector of the seminary, welcomed the gathering and felicitated the moderator and thanked her for her availability. Six brothers from different courses have delivered their speeches on various topics. The topics discussed were: The Trajectory of Democracy: A Retrospect and Prospect, by Br. G. Prtahap of III Course, Nehruvian Vision of Democracy, by Br K. Ravi Kumar of III Course, Fault lines in Nehruvian Democracy, by U. Emmanuel of II Course, Democracy in the clutches of Fascism, by P. Balayesu of II Course, Why BJP is subverting the Indian Constitution?, by K. Pavan of I Course and finally Towards a Utopia by K. Raveendra Joseph of I Course. After the presentation, there was a discussion with the moderator clarifying the doubts. The moderator congratulated the staff and the brothers for taking such an appropriate theme. Finally, the Seminar ended on a fine note, dreaming for a better India.
