Don Bosco College, Peddabodepalli, Narsipatnam, 19 August 2019: It was a significant day at Don Bosco College, Peddabodepalli, Narsipatnam as it ventured into another year of secular research and learning along with welcoming the freshers, first year intermediate and first year degree students.
Holding close to hearts and minds, the prayer “Let Your Wisdom be Our Light”, the students of the college welcomed all the staff and students of Don Bosco College, to the hall at 2 pm. The programme began with invoking the presence of the Holy Spirit to be their guide and support for the successful completion of the event. All the fresher’s of the college were welcomed with a badge and tilak on their foreheads according to the culture. They were brought to the hall with trumpet blasts and drums. There were dances, songs and skits performed by seniors to show their love towards juniors especially for the new-comers. There were 200 freshers who stole the show with their gentle and magnanimous smiles for the dazzling performances of their seniors.
Fr Benny Matthew sdb, the Principal of the college in his message, exhorted the students that they should study well and meet the expectations in the competitive and corporate world and that they need to equip with necessary tools to shine out well with good jobs. He further stated that that the students maintain punctuality and discipline. The inaugural ceremony finally came to its conclusion with a college anthem.
