Don Bosco College, Peddabodepalli, 16 August 2019: Birthday Celebration of Don Bosco were celebrated according to the tradition instructed by Salesians of Don Bosco. It was a grand celebration and it began with the Holy Eucharist in the morning, thanking God for the gift of Don Bosco as father and founder who lived an exemplary life, to mould spiritually and mentally to attain heavenly bliss as Salesians. The entire community took part actively the Eucharistic Celebration praising God for making him to be born on 16 August, 1815 to Mamma Margaret and Francis Bosco. He was born in a small village, Becchi, at Turin. During the Eucharist, Fr Benny highlighted some of the qualities of Don Bosco, who lived a Saintly life in taking care of the poor and abandoned boys of Turin in Italy. He was known as father of youth. He used to say all through his life, “For you I study, for you I work, and for you I am even ready to give my life”.
Don Bosco known for his youthfulness and gentleness to win their souls for God. Therefore, he kept his motto as “Da mihi animas Cetera Tolle” which means “give me souls, and take away the rest”. He was always giving importance to save souls and to keep rest of it aside in this world. At the end of the day, boys and girls were very happy to know about Don Bosco who lived magnanimous life.
