Don Bosco, Ongole, 31 January 2020: Don Bosco, Ongole celebrated the feast of St John Bosco in a grand and meaningful way on January 31. Solemn concelebrated Holy Eucharist was presided over by Most Rev. Dr M.D. Prakasam, the bishop of Nellore at 6.00 pm. Mass began with a prayer dance by Auxilium school girls. Twenty one priests from various parishes, religious communities concelebrated the Holy Eucharist. Apart from boys, youngsters from Don Bosco, Ongole and girls from Auxilium, Ongole there were sixteen religious sisters from various congregations, Salesian Cooperators, would be Cooperators, Associates of Don Bosco, parish council members from St Theresa and St Xavier parishes, youth from St Theresa parish were present. Bishop in his homily spoke about St John Bosco’s work for the poor youth, difficulties he had to face in his ministry and requested everyone present to strive to become good shepherds after the mind and heart of Don Bosco.

After the holy mass there was a short cultural programme by boys and girls from both Don Bosco and Auxilium. There was a short video program depicting the life of St Don Bosco and the various activities of Salesian community at Ongole. Fr Jose Kollithanath, the Rector of Don Bosco, Ongole thanked the bishop, priests, religious and all the guests for their gracious presence and valuable prayers. Bishop appreciated the works done by the Salesians and wished the community all the best for the years ahead.
